It gets to a point in a woman’s life where she has to make very conscious decisions, and as we all know some of these conscious decisions have become movements. A typical example are the “Natural hair “, “No makeup ” movements and these are all due to personal reasons beneficial to the individual.
One of these decisions for me has been embracing Modest fashion. Most people refer to it as “Islamic Fashion “, because of the wearing of hijabs, loose clothing , and covering the body according to the principles of the Quran , nevertheless its not only Islamic Fashion. It has always existed before we where even born. In Africa for example, most of our social cultural characterization have always forced modest fashion on us, like wearing skirts at a certain length, covering up, no exposures of certain parts of the body etc…
Honestly I have fallen in love with long lengthy wears, capes, hijabs and head gears. I mean whoever said, you cant be covered up yet make a statement lied. If you haven’t embraced this type of Fashion yet, really this won’t be a bad idea to try.
Below I wore a cut out jumpsuit but over it is a cape and head wrap (meant to be a hijab ) made by a Ghanaian designer and I loved it. A little skin to my modesty is not a bad idea.
