Who doesn’t love healthy hair? Well as a black person, having a healthy hair is actually one of our biggest struggles, but it’s actually possible to achieve if we do the right things; but the problem isn’t doing the right things, but following the millions of routines that pop up everyday .
Well for me apart from eating right, exercising, washing my hair regularly, I have also learnt to protect my hair while I sleep; yep!!! You heard me right.
Do you know while we are busy getting our beauty sleep, our hair can be undergoing serious damage? Most times this is caused by the friction between our hair and the bedsheet and pillow cases we sleep on or the arrangement of our hair while sleeping . Some of the notable damages are hair breakage, and splits .
The best hair practices before we go to bed apart from sleeping on silk or satin pillow cases to avoid the frictions , is wrapping the hair in a silk hair wrap or wearing a good satin bonnet.
The bonnets protect your hair from the friction that tears the hair, while tossing and turning during your happy night rest and dream, retains moisture and holds in curls. Apart from that this promotes the ability retain length.
The wonderful thing is that it’s a good protector for all kinds of hair; natural hair ,permed hair, weaves and braids . It protects your hair from split ends, dehydration, damage and holds your curls in place at night.
Well Ghana is not left being in practicing good hair care, thus the picture of me wearing a beautiful Print designed bonnet Made in Ghana by Natural Aid and as you can see beneath is made of Satin, that creates no friction at all with my natural hair.
