Last weekend, I had the chance to attend the Glitz Style Awards 2017. It has become one of many prominent Awards scheme in Accra, Ghana that everyone looks out for. Apart from the buzz, it’s always been classy and could be compared to starry skies, because it brings together all stars in every industry, from the stylish creme de la creme society to stylish regular people like good old me.
Usually, at events like this in Ghana, you would expect to see female in a ball gowns, which just throws you into a deja vu of Cinderella era; but surprisingly, almost everyone played it safe with their dresses this time around. One or two ball gowns could still be seen on the red carpet but in all, you could tell comfort and simplicity were embraced immensely by almost every lady.
I also embraced simplicity and class in a piece from Nuna Couture’s VINTAGE SACKAR
S/S 2017. A beautiful berry blue dress you could also wear as a skirt depending on how creative you are, I chose that dress because I wanted a Grecian look, thus my hair and makeup; which I did myself. This was paired up together with an earring that had an almost same shade of blue with gold embellishments.
Below is how it looked on the model and how I paired; What are your thoughts?
I didn’t go alone to the awards night, I went with beautiful Ghanaian media personality Chantelle Asante, who also wore a beautiful Ghanaian made dress. She went with beautiful brown tresses complimented with a soft beat and red bold lips.
Shout out to Chantelle Asante for a great night; we had fun.
